Apps view
In this article, you’ll learn what is the ‘Apps view’ and how to add apps and computers to a workspace in the ‘Apps view’ so you can start hosting.
In this article:
Adding apps in the ‘Apps view’
Adding apps when your workspace includes multiple computers
Adding apps from your phone or other remote device
Adding computer in the ‘Apps view’
Apps view shows all your added apps in one place, even if they come from different computers, so you can launch them quickly.
In the Apps view, only one instance of an application is displayed, even if the same application is available on multiple computers.
After clicking the app, you will see a list of computers where you can choose the one you want to launch the app on.
Adding applications in the ‘Apps view’
You can add more apps by clicking the “+” on the suggested apps, or select ‘Add more’ to add other apps from your computer.

Added applications:

After adding your computer and its applications, you can connect to them from any other device where the Chromaport app is installed.
If you want to know how to stream apps, see the article: How to stream apps.
Adding apps when your workspace includes multiple computers.
If you have more than one computer in your workspace, adding a new app (‘Add more’) in Apps View will show the message: ‘Choose a workspace computer to stream the new app from.’
This allows you to add apps from computers other than the current one to your workspace without physically accessing them.

Next you will be asked to choose between 'Add an app from this computer' or 'Add existing workspace app'

'Add an app from this computer' allows you to attach the application path/app command to the target computer based on the app path/app cmd from the computer you are currently using.
'Add existing workspace app' allows you to add the same app path/ app command that already exists in the workspace and assign it to the computer you want to access it from.
After selecting 'Add an app from this computer' you will see the app paths/the app commands from your current computer.
Choose one if the app path/app command on the selected computer is the same. If not, you can change it in the next step.

If the app path/app cmd matches on both computers, the app will be added successfully.
If the path/the command is different, make sure to change it in the next step—otherwise, the shortcut will be created, but the app won’t be found when you try to launch it.
After selecting 'Add existing workspace app', choose the app path/app command of the existing workspace application.
If the app path/ app cmd matches on both computers (the one from which the application was added in the workspace and the one from which you want to assign the application now) the application will be added successfully.
If the path/the command is different, the shortcut will be created, but the app won’t be found when you try to launch it.
Instead of attaching an application to a computer, you can also attach a computer to an application.
Select the desired application.

And add the computer you want to assign the app to.
Ensure that the application path/app command on the selected computer matches the one on your current computer.
Otherwise, the shortcut will be created, but the app won’t be found when you try to launch it on the added computer.

Adding apps from your phone or other remote device.
If you’re adding an app from a phone or another remote device (client), adding a new app will show the message: ‘Choose a workspace computer to stream the new app from.’

This allows you to add apps from computers to your workspace without physically accessing them.
Next you will be asked to choose between: 'Add existing workspace app' or ‘Add an app manually’.

'Add existing workspace app' allows you to add the same app path/app command that already exists in the workspace and assign it to the computer you want to access it from.
‘Add app manually’ allows you to attach an app from the target computer that doesn’t exist in your workspace.
After selecting 'Add existing workspace app', choose the app path/ app cmd of the existing workspace application.

If the app path/app cmd matches on both computers, the application will be added successfully.
If the path/ the command is different, the shortcut will be created, but the app won’t be found when you try to launch it.
After selecting ‘Add app manually’, you will be able to enter the app path/ the app cmd from the computer you want to stream the app from.

The application will be added to the workspace and assigned to the selected computer.
Adding computer in the ‘Apps view’
One way to add a computer to your workspace is in ‘the Computers view’ as explained in the article: Adding computers in the ‘Computers view’

When you click ‘Setup a new computer’ the current computer will be displayed.

At the end of the process, you will be asked whether to enable hosting on startup:
If you select ‘Yes’, hosting will be enabled automatically each time you sign in to the Chromaport app.
If you select ‘No, just now’, hosting will be enabled only for the current session. Once you sign out and sign back in, hosting will be disabled.
The computer has been added to the workspace.
‘Desktop’ will be automatically added as the first app from the selected computer.

After adding an app or desktop in the ‘Apps View’, the computer will also be visible in ‘the Computers view’.
This view presents the same information, but from the perspective of available computers.
Use 'Refresh' to update the status of desktops and apps.

After refreshing:
