Get started with your workspace

In this article, you’ll learn how to create your first workspace and how to get started using it on your phone or desktop.

After downloading, installing, and logging into the Chromaport application, the next step is to create a workspace.

This is the foundation of your Chromaport environment, where you will manage your computers, applications, and access settings.

A workspace allows you to connect everything in one place, making it easy to stream apps, switch between devices, and collaborate with others.

Creating your first workspace

Choose a name for your workspace (you can change it later), for example “Home”, and click ‘Create workspace.’

Once completed, your workspace will be created successfully.

Next steps

The next steps depend on whether you start with your new workspace on a phone or on a desktop computer.

On your phone

If you start with your new workspace on a phone, after creating your first workspace you will see the message: ‘You don’t have any apps added yet. Install the desktop app on your PC to start hosting.’

To continue, go to the computer you want to use as a host and install the Chromaport desktop app.

After installing the app on a computer, log in with your previously created account.

Once logged in, the desktop app will automatically display the workspace you created earlier on your mobile device.

At this point, you can proceed with the desktop setup process. For the next steps, refer to the next section: 'On your desktop'.

On your desktop

If you start with your new workspace on a desktop, or if you’ve reached this step from the previous instructions (‘On your phone’), after creating your first workspace you will see your newly created workspace immediately after logging in.

At this stage, hosting is not yet enabled.

This means that your computer is not yet configured to stream applications.

To enable hosting, follow the instructions in the article: How to host computer.

For a better understanding of host and client roles, refer to: Host vs client.

Summary

Your workspace is now created and ready to be configured. From here, you can start adding computers, installing applications, and enabling hosting to fully unlock Chromaport’s capabilities.
